Publisher Description
Noxuma Sleep - smart alarm, snore log and simple night tracking. Listens to your night through the phone's microphone, shows you a detailed hypnogram in the morning, and wakes you with a gentle gradual sound. Noxuma works fully for free with your phone. Optionally connect Sleep Phaser lamps to explore sleep for more people in your household. The app also includes a growing library of practical, visual Sleep Tips. No account, no ads, works offline. Free.
WHAT IT DOES
. Sleep monitoring from microphone - movement, breathing patterns, snoring
. Per-minute hypnogram: deep, light, REM, awake
. Stats: sleep efficiency, time to fall asleep, time in each stage
. Smart alarm with smooth 30-second fade-in - no jarring sounds
. 12 built-in alarm sounds, or your own audio file
PRIVACY-FIRST DESIGN
Your nights stay on your phone. Sleep data and hypnograms are never uploaded, and there is no account or login. The microphone is analysed on the device in one-minute windows; raw audio is never recorded or sent. Short snore clips are saved only if you turn them on, and they stay on the phone too.
To keep the app reliable, it sends anonymous technical diagnostics: crash and error reports, and a small launch ping with a random installation ID, the app version and the number of nights started. They never contain audio, sleep data or anything you typed. Anything else leaves your phone only when you choose to share it.
WHO IT'S FOR
For anyone who wants to know how they really sleep - without buying hardware, without monthly fees, and without compromising privacy. The app works fully offline and is free.
NOTE
Noxuma Sleep is a wellness app, not a medical device. The data is for personal insight only, not for diagnosis. If you have serious sleep concerns, please consult a doctor.
Version History New: “Get ready for sleep”. One tap plays Breathing or Soft noise for 5, 10 or 15 minutes, the sound fades out by itself and the app moves into measuring the night on its own — alarm and microphone run from the first second.
New: “Suggest a feature” under Settings → Help. Tell us what is missing — leave an e-mail and we will let you know what happens to your idea.
The Sleep guide moved from the main screen to Settings, so the main screen is tidier.
Fixed: the back button or gesture during a measured night no longer ends it — the app just goes to the background and keeps listening.
When the microphone delivers only silence, the app now says what to check.. 1.0.19 2d ago New: Trends. The chart icon in History opens your last 7, 30 or 90 nights side by side — how long you slept, what each night was made of, and how the averages moved against the period before.
Nights the system cut short are still drawn, but never counted into the averages, so a phone that killed the app cannot make your sleep look worse than it was. 1.0.18 Sep 24 Alarms are a list now: each one has a time and the mornings it applies to, and you can keep as many as you need. The card still shows only the alarm that rings next, with the days that one covers — tap it to open the list. A morning you untick, or an alarm you switch off, is still measured; that night simply runs without an alarm.
Fixed: changing a setting could put the alarm time — or anything else you had changed on another screen — back to what it was when the app started.
Fixed: the app could close if you tapped Dismiss or Snooze right after unlocking the phone, and on iPhone a storage error during the night could stop the alarm from ringing.
Setting an alarm now says it plainly: the alarm rings only during a measured night, so start the night with “Start sleep”. 1.0.17 Sep 20 Choosing an alarm sound no longer crashes when you tap quickly through the list, and the iOS system alarm is re-armed if it went missing before a smart wake.
Pause and Stop now stay pinned at the bottom of the night screen — nothing can push them out of reach.
The microphone keeps listening while music or a podcast plays you to sleep, instead of taking the audio for itself. If it ever stops delivering sound, the app says so during the night and the morning explains what happened.
iPad: a closed cover switches the microphone off in hardware. The recording now survives that and carries on when you open the cover, the night screen says so beforehand, and the morning tells you how long the microphone was muted. 1.0.15 Sep 11 iPhone and iPad: overnight recording now survives audio interruptions and restarts itself if the microphone goes quiet. Before a night starts, the app makes sure the alarm can ring with the screen locked — and says what is missing if it cannot. Less diagnostic data sent. 1.0.14 Sep 7 New: the app now speaks Arabic, laid out right-to-left — the whole interface, alarm, notifications and all 23 Sleep guide cards.
• It also speaks French
• Twelve new alarm sounds — nature, melodic and classic
• Your own sound: pick any MP3, M4A or WAV from your phone 1.0.12 Sep 6 New: Night sounds — optionally save short clips around snoring and noise, listen in the morning, keep or share them (Settings → Data and privacy, off by default). Clips are tagged on your phone; nothing leaves the device.
• Alarm: pick any of your phone's ringtones, fade-in starts from a whisper, no vibration
• Snoring and movement counts show episodes everywhere
